Prof. Dipl.-Psych. Mag. DDr. <strong>Rainer Winter<\/strong> is a Full Professor and chair of media and<br \/>\ncultural the\u00adory and head of the Department of Media and Communications at the AAU. After a MSc in Psychology he received both his MA and PhD in Sociology from Trier University in 1994 and in 2000 his venia\u00a0legendi in Sociology from RWTH Aachen University. Before joining Klagenfurt he was with RWTH Aachen University and University Trier (both Germany) and research professor at the University of lllinois, Urbana\u00ad Champaign, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, the University of California, Los Angeles, the University of Wisconsin, Madison (all USA), Capital Normal University, Beijing and Shanghai International Studies University (both China) in 1997\/98, 2006 and 2010. ln 2012 he became adjunct professor of Charles Sturt University Sydney. Further he is the chair of the section sociology of media and communications in the German Sociological Association. Mag. Dr. <strong>Matthias Wieser<\/strong> is Postdoc-Assistant at the Department of Media and Communi\u00adcations at the AAU. He received his MA in Cultural Studies from Goldsmiths College, University of London (UK) and his PhD in Sociology from the AAU in 2002 and 2011, respectively. Before joining\u00a0Klagenfurt he was Assistant in the Department of Sociology of RWTH Aachen University. She graduated from this University in 2009 and teaches Games as Social lnteraction, \u00a0Qualitative Research Methods and Action Research as well as Cultural Studies and Critical Pedagogy \u00a0up to now. Her PhD-thesis is concerned with cultural and social aspects that occur in analog and digital role playing games. This topic she already discussed on different international \u00a0congresses as the &#8220;8th Crossroads in Cultural Studies Conference&#8221; in Hong Kong in 2010, the &#8220;7th \u00a0International Congress of Qualitative ln\u00adquiry&#8221; in lllinois, Urbana Champaign in 2011, and at the &#8220;Cologne Game Lab&#8221; in 2011.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Institute for Networked and Embedded Systems<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/faculty.uoit.ca\/qureshi\/conferences\/wcnwasa13\/BRinner.jpg\" width=\"120\" \/>Univ.Prof. Dipl. lng. Dr. techn <strong>Bernhard Rinner<\/strong> is a Full Professor and chair of pervasive<br \/>\ncomputing at\u00a0the AAU, where he is currently serving as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Technical Sciences.\u00a0He received both his PhD and MSc in Telematics from Graz University of Technology in 1996 and 1993, \u00a0respectively. Before joining Klagenfurt he was with Graz University of Technology and held\u00a0research positions at the Department of Computer Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin\u00a0in 1995 and\u00a01998\/99. His current research interests include embedded computing, embedded video and computer\u00a0vision, sensor networks and pervasive computing. He has authored and co-authored more than 100\u00a0papers for journals, conferences and workshops, has led many research projects and has served as\u00a0reviewer, program committee member, program chair and editor-in-chief. Prof. Rinner has been\u00a0co\u00ad founder and general chair of the ACM\/IEEE International Conference on Distributed Smart Cameras\u00a0and has served as chief editor of a special issue on this topic in The Proceedings of the IEEE. He\u00a0is member of the IEEE,IFIP and TIV (Telematik lngenieurverband).<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.uni-klu.ac.at\/tewi\/bilder\/HUEBNER_Philipp-Nov2013.jpg\" width=\"120\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Philipp Huebner<\/strong> was born in 1987 in St. Veit, Austria. He studied \u201cEmbedded Systems Design\u201d at the University of Applied Sciences in Hagenberg where he received his MSc in 2013. From July 2012 until June 2013 he was working on his thesis in the field of digital system design and verification at the European Organisation for nuclear research (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland. During his bachelor studies he also completed an internship at the Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA) in Sydney. In November 2013 he joined the Pervasive Computing Group as a research staff member\u00a0involved in the \u201cTrustEYE\u201d project. In January 2014 he joined the CROSMOS project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Institute of Information Technology<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.itec.uni-klu.ac.at\/~mlux\/images\/mlux-head.jpg\" width=\"120\" height=\"159\" \/>Assoc.-Prof. Dipl.-lng. Dr.\u00a0<strong>Mathias Lux<\/strong> is Associate Professor at the Institute of Information Tech\u00adnology at the AAU and part of the Distributed Multimedia Systems group. He received his master degree in Mathematics in 2004 and his PhD in Telematics in 2006,both with distinction from Graz University of Technology.His PhD thesis focused on semantics in multimedia metadata, especially MPEG-7.\u00a0Mathias Lux has an extensive research record in the field of multimedia information systems and serious games. His experience encompasses research on multimedia retrieval, social software and user intentions. He published numerous papers at peer reviewed conferences and journals, edited a book on multimedia semantics and won awards for open source software development and innovative projects. His teaching efforts include computer game design &amp; production, a course also given as a guest lecturer at Passau University. His current research focus is on user intentions and goals as well as games with a purpose and mobile human computation for multimedia. He is a founding member of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.multimedia-metadata.info\">Multimedia Metadata Community<\/a>, which has organized several successful scientific events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Former Staff Members<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/youcanmakeit.at\/wp-content\/profile-pics\/18.jpg\" width=\"120\" height=\"120\" \/>Dipl. lng. Dr.\u00a0<strong>Bernhard Dieber<\/strong>\u00a0received the Dipl. lng. degree in applied computer science from the AAU in 2008.Since 2008,he has been a member of the Pervasive Computing Group at the AAU pursuing his PhD. Since 2012 he is an Assistant Professor at the Pervasive Computing Group. His research interests include visual sensor networks and computer vision as well as resource management and mobile and pervasive computing. ln addition to his research work, he is co-founder and partner of\u00a0coUnity\u00a0Software Development GmbH.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Institute of Media Communications Univ.
